After 30 plus years in law enforcement and investigation up north in New York, Artie and his wife finally relocated to the St Augustine area a couple of years ago and they love it. Artie has always liked to entertain, tell stories, and thrives on research. Besides being a guide at A Ghostly Encounter and also at Ancient City Tours as an educational tour guide, Artie is a retired cop and a few of his other interests include being a member of a local Police and Fire Pipes and Drums band as a drummer, being a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, a Freemason, and he rides his motorcycle with the St Augustine chapter of the Blue Knights just to list a few.
Wanting to keep busy whilst also doing something fun and interactive with people, he naturally gravitated to the tourism industry here and specifically the ghost tours.Artie has always been a horror movie, scary stuff, spooky, macabre, and true crime kind of guy. He enjoys reading up on the history of St Augustine and giving tours. He prides himself on researching whatever ghostly stories he has learned in order to give the best, most accurate, most historically correct and, of course, most entertaining renditions of those stories on his tours. Artie likes to spin those yarns and add a touch of humor here and there to insure the best performance during his tours. He has been married to his very supportive and lovely wife for over 35 years, they together have two amazing sons, and recently a grandson has been added to their family. He can be seen wearing a kilt and marching in the St Augustine St Patrick’s Day parade, dressed smartly in 1800s attire with a derby upon his head and a wolf’s head walking cane in hand, or, perhaps, he's most recognized as our olde tyme Sheriff ghost host. At 6’6” tall, Artie surely is easy to spot around town."
